what we do
Like the landscape itself, our process evolves through an exploration of the site, collecting and analyzing information about the setting and conditions of a place. This is the process of discovery, evaluated through personal observation, drawing, photography, research and technical review.
Design and visioning follow, building on this foundation of knowledge. Inspired by the enduring beauty of nature, the history of architecture and gardens, world travel, fine art, and the written word, we consider what is possible.
We overlay what we learn from the site with the needs of our clients. Our expertise is fluid and inclusive, proficient with design for retreat or recreation, agriculture or production, health and wellness, live or work, play or rest, family, friends, urban or rural, natural or built, modern or traditional.
We use drawings that are both evocative and technically sound to communicate our ideas; creating a vision supported by an understanding of how to move from idea to execution. We look to bring a sense of awe into the everyday life with designs inspired, but not bound, by what we have done before.
